Flood Control

Your company, must create a plan that includes conditions to activate it, a chain of command, emergency functions, and evacuation procedures. Review the plan with employees. A competent person must be aware of current conditions and foreseeable weather that could endanger our workers.

Mechanical Equipment

Equipment use: Only acceptable equipment that is well-maintained should be used in gassy operations. 

Mobile diesel-powered equipment: Equipment used in gassy operations must be approved by MSHA or be equivalent to MSHA-approved equipment. 

Access and egress: Employers must provide safe access and egress to work stations, protecting employees from being struck by mobile equipment.
